PROJECT RESTART FEE Clause Samples
The Project Restart Fee clause establishes a charge that must be paid if a previously paused or suspended project is resumed. Typically, this fee covers the additional administrative, logistical, or resource allocation costs incurred by the service provider when restarting work after an interruption. By specifying a restart fee, the clause ensures that the provider is compensated for the disruption and extra effort required to mobilize resources again, thereby discouraging unnecessary project suspensions and clarifying financial responsibilities in such events.

PROJECT RESTART FEE. Because of substantial cost incurred by the ENGINEER to stop and restart a project once it is underway, should this project’s progress be halted at any time for thirty (30) or more calendar days by the CLIENT/OWNER, for any reason, a project restart fee of 10% of the total contract fee to date will be due and payable immediately.
