Common use of PROMOTIONAL BOARD FUNCTION Clause in Contracts

PROMOTIONAL BOARD FUNCTION. The Promotional Board will: (a) Define the N.F.P.A. officer standards as they relate to the ranks within the Delta Fire Department. (b) Select the number of eligible candidates to be considered for a position on the appropriate Promotional Eligibility List. (c) Recommend to the Fire Chief, following a review of past performance records, those candidates acceptable to write examinations to qualify for placement on the appropriate Promotional Eligibility List. (d) Establish the material on which an examination will be based, the format for the exam (written, practical), and the process for preparing candidates for the exam. (e) ▇▇▇▇ and evaluate promotional eligibility examinations. (f) Recommend to the Fire Chief, placement of candidates on the appropriate Promotional Eligibility List. (g) Recommend to the Fire Chief, candidates for promotion. (h) Recommend to the Fire Chief, interim promotional criteria, where the criteria as set out in Section 6(b) are beyond the control of the Delta Fire Department or beyond the control of the individual firefighter.

(dc) Establish Recommend, in extra-ordinary circumstances, firefighters to work in an acting capacity, to the material on which an examination will be based, the format for the exam (written, practical), and the process for preparing candidates for the examFire Chief. (ed) ▇▇▇▇ and evaluate promotional eligibility examinations. (fe) Recommend to the Fire Chief, placement of candidates on the appropriate Promotional Eligibility List. (g) Recommend , to the Fire Chief, . f) Recommend candidates for promotion.
