Protect Existing Construction Clause Samples

The "Protect Existing Construction" clause requires parties involved in a project to take necessary measures to safeguard any structures, utilities, or features already present at the site before new work begins. This typically involves identifying vulnerable areas, implementing protective barriers, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to prevent accidental damage during construction activities. The core function of this clause is to minimize the risk of costly repairs, project delays, and disputes by ensuring that existing assets are preserved throughout the construction process.
Protect Existing Construction. The Contractor shall protect from damage all parts of the Work. Any damage to any part of existing construction shall be repaired by the Contractor at its sole cost and expense to the full satisfaction of the Engineer.
