Provision of Auxiliary Aids and Services Sample Clauses
The Provision of Auxiliary Aids and Services clause requires that necessary support tools or services be made available to individuals with disabilities to ensure effective communication and equal access. This may include providing sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices, or accessible electronic materials, depending on the specific needs of the individual and the context. The core function of this clause is to eliminate barriers and promote inclusivity by ensuring that all participants can fully engage with services, programs, or activities.
Provision of Auxiliary Aids and Services. Subject to Paragraph 19.7, below, and consistent with the other provisions of Paragraph 19, the Defendant shall ensure that appropriate auxiliary aids and services are made available to all YSI residents who are deaf or hard of hearing where such aids and services are necessary to ensure effective communication with these residents, within 24 hours of such resident’s admission to a YSI program or facility, so that they may participate in YSI’s programs and services on an equal basis with nonhearing impaired residents. To the extent that YSI is responsible for the operation and management of aftercare programs, YSI shall also ensure that appropriate auxiliary aids and services are made available to all residents or youth participating in YSI aftercare programs.

The ACSO will ensure that appropriate auxiliary aids and services, including qualified interpreters, are made available to persons who are deaf or hard of hearing when such aids and services are necessary to ensure effective communication, so that they may participate in or benefit from the ACSO’s services, programs, or activities on an equal basis with others.

Providence acknowledges its obligation to provide effective communication to patients and companions at all Facilities, including through the provision of auxiliary aids and services free of charge. In order to ensure such effective communication, each Facility will maintain a list of auxiliary aids and services available onsite at each Facility, along with directions for obtaining the aid or service.
Provision of Auxiliary Aids and Services. The UDOC will ensure that appropriate auxiliary aids and services, including qualified interpreters, are made available to persons who have a hearing disability when such aids and services are necessary to ensure effective communication, so that otherwise qualified inmates may participate in or benefit from the UDOC's services, programs, or activities on an equal basis with others.The type of auxiliary aid or service necessary to ensure effective communication will vary in accordance with the method of communication normally used by the inmate; the nature, length, and complexity of the communication involved; and the context in which the communication is taking ▇▇▇▇▇.▇▇ determining what type of auxiliary aids and services are necessary, the UDOC shall give primary consideration to the expressed choice of the inmate, and must honor that choice unless the UDOC can demonstrate that another effective means of communication exists. 28 C.F.R. § 35.160(b)(2).The UDOC will make the determination of the appropriate auxiliary aids and services during its initial communication assessment at intake and will reassess as needed, and, as provided in paragraph 28.

Subject to paragraph 14.7, below, and consistent with the other provision of this paragraph 14, the Respondents shall ensure that appropriate auxiliary aids and services are made available to all YSI residents who are deaf or hard of hearing where such aids and services are necessary to ensure effective communication with these residents, within forty-eight (48) hours of such resident’s admission to a YSI program or facility, so that they may participate in YSI’s programs and services on an equal basis with non-hearing impaired residents. To the extent that YSI is responsible for the operation and management of aftercare programs for any YSI residents, YSI shall also ensure that appropriate auxiliary aids and services are made available to all residents participating in YSI aftercare programs following release from a YSI facility.
