Public Works Director. 1.3.1.1 The successful Contractor shall provide and employ a Public Works Director (PWD) to manage the Public Works operations for the City under the direction of the City Manager. Provide the full name along with a current resume of the Director candidate. The candidate will be expected to be present during all interviews, presentations, and contract negotiations with the City. 1.3.1.2 The Contractor CONTRACT shall include an Organizational (Org) Chart for the proposed Public Works department. The Org. Chart shall identify the PWD as well as the other proposed positions (or functions) that will make up the Public Works department. All of the proposed personnel shall be under the supervision of a Professional Engineer (PE) who is currently registered in the State of Georgia. It is preferable, but not necessary, that a PE be an active member of the Public Works team. The Job Description for the Public Works Director is as follows: Performs highly responsible professional, administrative and technical work involved in planning and directing public works activities in the areas of construction, maintenance and cleaning of street, sidewalks and drainage; the maintenance and repair of cemetery and park buildings and grounds; and vehicle maintenance. Also performs supervisory and professional engineering work. Work involves the responsibility for long range and current planning, survey, design and inspection of all streets, parks and cemetery projects, and of all contract engineering projects. The employee delegates day-to-day activities to supervisory staff, but performs unusual tasks which require a high degree of skill and technical knowledge personally. The employee exercises independent judgment and discretion on all technical matters within the department subject to guidelines set by the City Manager. Employee reports to the City Manager for review of work and evaluation of performance. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Exercises supervision over clerical, administrative, maintenance and professional staff as assigned. Public Works Director. A. A Public Works Director (“PWD”) shall be appointed by the joint designation of both parties. The parties through the PWD, shall complete all Public Works Services as specified in the Exhibit A “Public Work Services” attached hereto and made a part hereof. B. It is the intent of the parties to organize this Agreement to provide the PWD with independence of professional judgment to complete the work required in accordance with the standards set forth in this agreement.   • Public Works Installation work which is considered public works is excluded from purchase under this Contract. Historically, the New York State Bureau of Public Works has maintained that installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment attached to any wall, ceiling, or floor, or affixed by hard wiring or plumbing is public work. In contrast, installation of a piece of equipment which is portable or a “plug-in” free-standing unit would not be considered public work.
