Pupils and Parents. Carers The school can expect pupils learning remotely to:  Complete work to set deadlines  Read for a set period every day as directed  Seek help as required from school staff  Alert teachers if they are not able to complete work  Use our YouTube channel to guide them for best use of of Google Classroom. The school can expect parents to:  Support their child/children with home learning to the best of their ability given their own home circumstances, health and work commitments etc.  Make the school aware if their child is sick or otherwise cannot complete work  Seek help from the school if they need it  Only use Google classroom for curriculum related correspondence.  Be respectful when making any complaints or raising concerns. These should be sent to the school office and not raised on Google classroom. The School Teachers are responsible for: Setting work:  Teachers will set work for the children in their class/year group using Google Classroom  Teachers will set three activities per day. Activities will include an English, Maths and foundation learning task. In addition, daily reading is expected of all pupils.  Providing clear, detailed task instructions to enable pupils to continue their learning relatively independently. Parents will need to ensure that home learning is completed however there will be no expectation on the part of the school, for parents to ‘teach’ children at home  A weekly home learning timetable will be set in cases where a year group has to work at home. Phase and Senior Leaders will monitor the work set by teachers to ensure consistency and high quality of lessons. Providing feedback on completed work:  Work completed should be uploaded to Google Classroom whenever possible.  Feedback will be in the form of private comments on Google Classroom.  Priority on feeding back to children will be given to core subjects : reading, writing , maths and R.E. Feedback in other curriculum areas may also be given. Keeping in touch with pupils who are not in school:  In cases of concern with the low level or lack of pupil engagement with learning, parents will be contacted via phone to establish reasons for this. The class teacher will provide necessary guidance, support or encouragement to enable full engagement.
