Purchase Preference Clause Samples

A Purchase Preference clause establishes a priority or advantage for certain suppliers or products during the procurement process. Typically, this clause may give preference to local vendors, minority-owned businesses, or products meeting specific criteria, such as environmental standards, when bids are otherwise comparable. Its core function is to promote particular policy objectives—such as supporting local economies or advancing sustainability—by influencing purchasing decisions in favor of preferred sources.
