Purchasing Cards. Why is this important? 4.7.1 Purchase cards are an alternative method of buying and paying for relatively low value goods, which generate a high volume of invoices. This should generate an efficiency saving from lower transaction costs (i.e. fewer invoices processed and paid for through the integrated accounts payable system), as well as reducing the number of ▇▇▇▇▇ cash transactions. 4.7.2 To provide detailed financial instructions to card holders. 4.7.3 To authorise and maintain control over the issue of cards. 4.7.4 To reconcile the purchase card account to the ledger on a monthly basis. 4.7.5 To be responsible for ordering and paying for goods and services in accordance with the Force procurement policy, contract standing orders and all procedures laid down by the Chief Constable’s CFO.
