Common use of PURPOSE & INTENT Clause in Contracts

PURPOSE & INTENT. 3.01 In an effort to continue harmonious and cooperative relationships with its employees and to insure its orderly and uninterrupted efficient operations, the Employer now desires to enter into an Agreement reached through collective bargaining, which will have for its purposes, among others, the following: a. to recognize the legitimate interests of the employees of the Employer to participate through collective bargaining in the determination of the terms and conditions of their employment. b. to promote fair and reasonable working conditions. c. to promote individual efficiency and service to the City of North Canton. d. to avoid interruption or interference with the efficient operation of the Employer’s business. e. to provide a basis for the adjustment of matters of mutual interest by means of amicable discussion.
