PURPOSE OF THE POLICY. The purpose of this policy is to affirm the county’s commitment to provide a safe workplace free from violence, and to do whatever is necessary to prevent, prohibit and take appropriate action against violence in the workplace. All employees, volunteers, Board or Commission members, vendors, citizens, or anyone else at county worksites or activities are specifically prohibited from behaving in a violent or threatening manner. This policy clarifies what constitutes violence in the workplace, and explains the procedures involved in investigating and resolving any risk to workplace safety.
