Purpose Recognition. 1.01 The general purpose of this Agreement is to maintain mutually satisfactory employment relations between the Employer and the Association. It provides means for the settlement of grievances and for the final settlement of disputes. Salaries, hours of work and other conditions of employment are hereby established by mutual agreement. It is recognized that Nurses wish to work co- operatively with the Employer to provide the best possible community health services. 1.02 The Employer recognizes the Association as the exclusive bargaining agent for all registered and graduate nurses and registered practical nurses, employed by the Employer on a full time or regular part time basis, save and except Supervisors of Nurses and all other persons above the rank of Supervisor of Nurses. 1.03 Nurses shall not be required or permitted to make any written or verbal agreement with the Employer which conflicts with the terms of this Collective Agreement.
