Qualifying Standards. The Employer shall provide an Officers’ certification program pursuant to the applicable edition of NFPA 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, Levels I and II. The Employer shall post a Training Calendar on or before December 1st of each year listing the NFPA 1021 Level I and II training courses to be offered in the next year. Employees must complete the standard when it is made available to them. Failure to do so shall not constitute cause for special consideration. Failure by the Employer to provide the material necessary to complete the required courses shall not affect the future promotional status of the employee.
