Common use of Recognition of Union Representatives Clause in Contracts

Recognition of Union Representatives. Union representatives shall have the right to investigate complaints and to prepare and present grievances in accordance with the procedures herein provided for and, for that purpose, shall have the right to meet or communicate with the employee on behalf of whom the grievance could be submitted. This right will be granted as soon as possible and will not be unreasonably withheld. If the Union representative is an employee in the bargaining unit, the performance of the above functions shall not cause any change in the services to the customers nor the payment of overtime.
