Common use of RECORDS SECTION Clause in Contracts

RECORDS SECTION. Senior Uniform Crime Reporters, Uniform Crime Reporters and Data Entry Operators in the Records Section of the Police Department may be assigned daily or weekly work schedules that vary from the normal daily and weekly Hours of Work provisions set out in Article 15 of the Collective Agreement. When such an assignment occurs the terms and conditions governing hours of work, overtime, sick leave, statutory holidays and annual vacations shall be as provided in Sections 1 through 5 below notwithstanding any of those provision contained elsewhere. However, provisions of the Collective Agreement not specifically mentioned in Sections 1 through 5 below shall apply. 1. The normal hours of work for a full-time employee shall, in a calendar year, be equivalent to an average of thirty-five (35) hours per week pursuant to the following: (i) Normal work days and hours of operation shall be seven (7) days a week, Sunday through to and including Saturday. (ii) Work day shifts between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. (iii) Schedules shall be based on an eight (8) week cycle. (iv) During this eight (8) week cycle each employee will be scheduled for thirty- two (32) days of work. (v) The normal day of work shall be eight and three quarters (8¾) hours of work at the straight time rate of pay. 2. Overtime rates shall apply where the daily hours of work exceed eight and three- quarters (8¾) hours, or where an employee works in excess of two hundred and eighty (280) hours in the eight (8) week cycle. 3. Statutory Holidays shall be based on the eleven (11) Statutory Holidays of the Collective Agreement being equivalent to seventy-seven (77) hours to be calculated and scheduled as statutory holiday time off work throughout the calendar year. 4. Annual Vacation shall be based on one (1) week of vacation equating to thirty-five
