Common use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Clause in Contracts

Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The Software may include Red Hat Enterprise Linux software (“Operating System”) provided by Red Hat, Inc. (“Red Hat”). The defined term “Software” includes Operating System and as such it is provided pursuant to and governed by the terms and conditions of the Agreement except as follows: 1. Subject to the following terms, Customer is granted a perpetual, worldwide license to the Operating System (which may include multiple software components) pursuant to the GNU General Public License v. 2. The license agreement for each software component is located in the software component's source code and permits Customer to run, copy, modify, and redistribute the software component (subject to certain obligations in some cases), both in source code and binary code forms, with the exception of (a) certain binary only firmware components and (b) the images identified in Subsection B.2., below. The license rights for the binary only firmware components are located with the components themselves. This Agreement pertains solely to the Operating System and does not limit Customer’s rights under, or grant Customer rights that supersede, the license terms of any particular component.
