Common use of Reduction in Services Clause in Contracts

Reduction in Services. In the event of a closure of a department or departments or store, or an indefinite layoff, a regular employee who is affected will be placed in a vacant position on the basis of her/his seniority. If such employee is unable to satisfactorily perform the work in the alternate job after a three (3) month period of on-the-job, she/he could exercise her/his rights under this Agreement.
