Common use of Regular Meal Break Clause in Contracts

Regular Meal Break. 37.1.1. To be 30 minutes to 1 hour duration scheduled to coincide with individual run requirements. ▇▇▇▇▇ breaks to be taken on the road when required and paid at ordinary time. 37.1.2. This meal break must commence no earlier than three and a half hours and no later than five and a half hours after the employee’s fixed starting time of ordinary hours of work. However, where it is reasonable and practicable the meal break may be arranged to be in balance with the ordinary hours of work. 37.1.3. If a meal break is not allowed to an employee, the time worked after five and a half hours after the fixed starting time until the break without pay is allowed, will be paid at the rate of ordinary time, the payment to be in addition to any payment due in respect of a weekly or casual wage.
