Common use of Reimbursement Program Clause in Contracts

Reimbursement Program. All employees of the bargaining unit may participate in the City's Tuition Reimbursement Program. Under this program, each employee shall be eligible for a maximum of Three Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($3,750) in reimbursement per calendar year for fees and required textbooks, and courses of instruction voluntarily undertaken. Courses of instruction eligible for reimbursement under this program shall include courses necessary for job-related degree programs or courses of study not necessarily within a job-related degree program but which are still job-related. In addition, only coursework provided by a recognized institution (e.g. college, university, community college, post-secondary technical school, etc.) shall be eligible for reimbursement under this program. No reimbursement shall be approved for correspondence courses.

Under this program, each employee shall be eligible for assistance limited to 50% of the cost of tuition, books, and other necessary materials up to $1,000 for an associate’s degree, $1,500 for a maximum of Three Thousand Seven Hundred bachelor’s degree, and Fifty Dollars ($3,750) 2,000 for a master’s degree in reimbursement per calendar year for fees and required textbooks, and courses of instruction voluntarily undertakenyear.
