Common use of Reimbursement Program Clause in Contracts

Reimbursement Program. Each full-time employee who is subject to the provisions of this Agreement will be eligible for a reimbursement of all tuition in courses of instruction voluntarily undertaken by him and subject to the following conditions: A. An estimate of the costs and education goals shall be submitted in writing via an Education Plan to the Chief of Police and City Manager for approval. This must be submitted on an annual basis for budgetary purposes. B. All courses must be job related and approved by the Employer. All courses must be taken during non-scheduled working hours. All scheduled hours for courses of instruction must be filed with the employee's immediate supervisor and with the City Manager's office. All scheduled times of courses must be approved by the Chief and/or City Manager. Any situation, which in the discretion of the Chief would require a member's presence on the job shall take complete and final precedence over any times scheduled for courses. C. Any financial assistance from any governmental or private agency available to an employee, whether or not applied for and regardless of when such assistance may have been received shall be deducted in the entire amount from the tuition reimbursement the employee is eligible for under this Section. D. No reimbursement will be granted for books, papers, supplies of whatever nature, transportation, meals or any other expense connected with any course except the cost of tuition. E. Reimbursement for tuition will be made when the Employee presents an official certification, or its equivalent, and a receipt of payment from the institution confirming satisfactory completion of the approved course. ▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ of tuition will be at one hundred percent (100%) with a maximum reimbursement per employee per year set at the beginning of each fiscal year by the City Manager based on budget constraints. ▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will be eligible if the employee has: 1. A grade of "C" or better, ("B" or better in a graduate level course.); 2. A passing grade in a pass/fail course;

Applications for approval of institutions and courses must be made no later than thirty (30) days prior to enrollment. D. No reimbursement will be granted for books, papers, supplies of whatever nature, transportation, meals or any other expense connected with any course except the cost of tuition. E.
