Remote Learning. A. The Superintendent has sole discretion to move between remote and in-person learning on a districtwide, building, program, equity based and/or classroom level. Remote learning is not considered closure for purposes of calamity, and Section
Remote Learning. Each school district will develop a remote learning plan that has been approved by its Board of Education and then submitted to the Ohio Department of Education by August 21, 2020. Additionally, each school district ● will include as a part of their plans an option for parents to elect to send their student(s) to school for school-based learning OR an option to select remote learning for their student(s). ● will only permit parents to change their selected option at the end of each district’s determined grading period (nine weeks, semester or trimester). ● recognizes that remote learning may include both digital (online) and analog (nondigital) instructional delivery. ● recognizes its responsibility to provide students with laptops or other appropriate devices as well as district-selected online platforms to participate in remote learning. ● will not permit students to move in and out of remote learning unless there are specific reasons related to quarantine or COVID 19-related health issues. ● may elect to utilize remote learning during periods of time for “practicing” remote learning, or if buildings are closed for cleaning or sanitizing OR in circumstances where the virus has escalated and the superintendent determines that a school building or the district will move to remote learning.
Remote Learning. A. Remote learning (instruction and assignments not provided in person) if required of, or deemed necessary by the Board, will be instituted after consultation with and advice from the CEA officers or their designee.
B. Teachers will not be required to provide dual instruction (i.e., simultaneous in person and remote instruction).
Remote Learning. Implementation of remote learning, including but not limited to, during the Covid-19 pandemic, shall not constitute a calamity day(s), regardless of the underlying reason for implementation of remote learning. Should the Superintendent, in his/her sole discretion, determine remote learning to be necessary, employees shall perform the duties of their positions on such remote learning days, even if students or teachers are not in attendance, unless otherwise directed by the Administration. Employees will receive their regular rate of pay for work performed on a remote instruction day. No additional premium will be paid for such work under this provision or current law.
Remote Learning. 1. The District may create a Virtual Academy to allow students to engage in instruction remotely while at home. Positions shall be posted and awarded pursuant to the parties’ collective bargaining agreement.
2. Teachers shall be provided with school computers and other essential equipment to perform their duties.
3. Teachers shall not be held accountable for any student computer interference.
4. Teachers shall not be responsible if technology problems arise but will work with the Technology Department as needed and will work to alter lesson plans and activities as needed.
5. The Superintendent shall determine when remote instruction shall be implemented and will meet with W.E.A. to confer regarding the plan.
Remote Learning. 6.1 Online collaboration is essential for remote learning providing increased opportunities to maintain the connection between school and home. .
6.2 Users engaging, participating or otherwise connected to the ICT Facilities are expected to abide by the Acceptable Use Policy, and all other applicable policies, including but not limited to the Remote Learning Policy.
Remote Learning. Teachers will provide in-person instruction. Remote learning can only be required under a Gubernatorial Disaster or when any other exigent circumstance exists, as deemed by the State Superintendent. Teachers are allowed, upon their own discretion, to use district secured and provided digital platforms to enhance learning opportunities.
Remote Learning. A. In lieu of concurrent instruction, teachers will utilize conference/planning time to communicate in-person, live, through virtual means with online students and/or post videotaped lesson plans to promote student learning.
B. In regard to remote learning options, necessitated by building closures as determined by the Superintendent, quarantine orders and/or social distancing as required for in-person instruction, a committee of five (5) GEA members and five
Remote Learning. Any employee who is assigned to Remote Learning who falls under TIERS 1-4 identified above will be granted a waiver from the work location requirements set forth at Section 8.
Remote Learning. The Board and Association acknowledge that the District is subject to ISBE’s guidance and recommendations on the implementation of Remote Learning Days and Blended Remote Learning Days. Because remote learning happens outside of the traditional classroom and may be in real-time or flexibly timed, the District’s need for and ability to effectively utilize Unit Members may vary. Any training required shall be incorporated into the workload of a professional development day if possible. If all classrooms are closed to in-person learning for an extended period of time for any reason, the GSSA and administration shall meet in an emergency session to bargain the impact. The Board will endeavor to maintain consistent scheduling of work days and hours, but retains the right to adjust schedules, assignments, and duties as needed. Unit Members may be required to perform in-person work in accordance with state guidelines when students and/or teachers are engaged in remote learning. The performance evaluation process shall be modified to account for remote learning.
