Common use of Replacement driver Clause in Contracts

Replacement driver. If an Insured is ill or injured during a Trip in one of the countries listed below and is no longer able to drive his/her Vehicle, and none of his/her passengers is in a position to replace him/her, the Assistance Provider shall provide the Insured with: ▪ either a driver to return the vehicle to his/her Domicile by the most direct route. We pay the driver’s travel expenses and salary. The driver operates according to the applicable professional regulations in force. This cover is granted to the Insured if his/her Vehicle is adequately insured, in perfect working order, conforms to national and international Highway Codes and meets MOT or equivalent standards of roadworthiness. If this is not the case, the Assistance Provider reserves the right not to send a driver; ▪ or a first class train or economy class plane ticket, so that the Insured or a person chosen by the Insured can return the Vehicle.
