Representative Time Off. The Medical Center shall make a good faith 8 effort to grant requested time off, or to make an adjustment of work schedule pattern or 9 trades within the affected work week(s) to accommodate the request, for all bargaining 10 unit elected/appointed Association members to attend local, State and National (▇▇▇, 11 ▇▇▇) Association meetings and conventions that are required of them to fulfill the 12 obligations of their position. The nurse must give reasonable advance notice of any 13 such request to the Medical Center. Negotiation schedules and other such meetings will 14 ordinarily be set sufficiently far in advance to enable nurses to adjust their work 15 schedules. If work schedules cannot be adjusted, nurses shall be required to utilize paid 16 time off (PTO) if a nurse has a PTO balance greater than sixty (60) hours for State, 17 National Association (ANA, NFN, AFT) Association meetings and conventions. Nurses 18 may access educational days and funds for state and national Association meetings.
