Request for Unpaid Leave. 1. Written application to be submitted by the employee to the Superintendent at least two (2) weeks in advance of need for purposes specified in this article only. A. A written response to the request from the Transportation Supervisor and/or Superintendent shall be given within one (1) week after application is made. B. Exception in case of emergency shall be granted. C. Only non-probationary employees shall be eligible for leaves of absence. D. The Superintendent has the discretion to deny a leave of absence, except as provided by law.
