Requirements and Evaluation. i. The Parties shall collaborate to select and determine the number of instructors, the ratio of instructors to students, and the subject areas of instruction. The Parties shall collaborate to provide any requisite professional development activities. ii. Prior to teaching, faculty provided by the School District shall receive discipline- specific training and orientation from PCCD regarding, but not limited to, course curriculum, assessment criteria, pedagogy, course philosophy, testing and grading procedures record keeping and other instructional responsibilities. Said training shall be approved by and provided by PCCD. iii. PCCD Faculty provided by the School District will participate in professional development activities sponsored by PCCD as required by the terms and condition of the contract referenced in Section 8(A(ii) above and shall be encouraged to collaborate to address course content, course delivery, assessment, evaluation and/or research and development in the field. iv. All faculty performance shall be evaluated by PCCD using the adopted evaluation process and standards for faculty of PCCD. At the request of School District, PCCD shall promptly investigate any accusation against or request to remove any PCCD Faculty reasonably deemed by School District to be abusive, disorderly, incompetent, careless or unqualified to perform the services or provide instruction under this Agreement. The investigation and any determination as to whether to remove any Faculty will be performed by PCCD in accordance with its internal processes, including any obligations under any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
