Responsibility for Customer Data Compliance Clause Samples

The "Responsibility for Customer Data Compliance" clause defines which party is accountable for ensuring that all customer data is handled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Typically, this clause clarifies whether the service provider or the customer must implement appropriate data protection measures, such as obtaining necessary consents, maintaining data security, and responding to regulatory inquiries. Its core function is to allocate legal and operational responsibility for data compliance, thereby reducing ambiguity and mitigating the risk of non-compliance penalties.
