Responsibility for Damage and Loss. By signing the Room Condition Report, a student accepts the condition of the room and contents at the time of occupancy and establishes the standard for the condition of the room and contents at the termination of occupancy. The student specifically agrees to be liable for damage or other loss incurred to the building, room, furniture, and equipment which is not the result of ordinary wear and tear. Damage within a student’s room is the responsibility of the students assigned to the space. Residents are expected to take every precaution to assure that communal property is not abused. In halls or floors where the University has determined that there is theft or undue abuse of university property and the responsible individual(s) cannot be identified, all residents will be held responsible for paying a prorated share of the cost of repairing such damages.

6.04 Student will be charged $75.00 per key if lost or stolen and $50.00 per ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ID Card if lost or stolen. Student is to report lost or stolen keys/▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ID Cards immediately to the Office of Residence Life.
6.05 Student must check out in accordance with circulated check-out procedures. Failure to do so will result in a $100 improper check-out charge. In addition, Student will be assessed charges for failure to turn in a key and/or for cleaning and damages as necessary at termination.

The Permittee shall be responsible for any and all damages or loss by theft or otherwise of property whether such property shall belong to the University or to others, and for injury to persons (including death) which may in any way result from the operation or conducting of the Covered Activity, or may be caused by any of the persons involved in the Covered Activity, whether or not directly caused by the Permittee.

If the student loses or damages the computer or any of the accessories due to negligence, deliberate destruction or repeated breakage, the student and parent may be billed for the full cost of repair or replacement. If a screen needs to be replaced more than two times per school year, the full cost of a screen replacement will be charged.

Touchpad $40 Students must keep the computer in a secure location (i.e. locked in your school locker or in a secure place where others do not have access) or attended (with you or within your sight) at all times. Computers left in bags or backpacks or in unattended classrooms are considered “unattended” and may be confiscated by faculty or staff as a protection against theft. Unattended and unlocked equipment, even if stolen at school, will be the student’s responsibility. In the event the computer is lost or stolen, the student and parent may be billed the full cost of replacement. *Asset tags prevent theft and help to return lost or stolen items. The removal of an asset tag implies the equipment was stolen or tampered with. Therefore, is crucial that asset tags stay intact.
