Common use of Responsibility of the User Clause in Contracts

Responsibility of the User. 8.1 The User is responsible for the first £250 (21 or over) or £500 aged (18 to 21) of any costs of repairs for damage to the vehicle, howsoever caused. 8.2 The User is responsible for the first £250 (21 or over) or £500 aged (18 to 21) towards any costs related to the theft of the vehicle whilst in their custody or control, if no negligence is proved. 8.3 The User is responsible for checking the correct fuel card is in the vehicle at the commencement of the booking and for reporting its absence before driving off. 8.4 The User is responsible for unauthorised use of the fuel card whilst the vehicle is in their custody or control.
