Subjects should not receive alendronate if they have the following conditions/limitations: · Abnormalities of the esophagus and other factors which delay espophageal emptying such as stricture or achalasia. · Inability to stand or sit upright for at least 30 minutes. · Hypocalcemia. · Known history of hypersensitivity to alendronate, alendronate excipients, or related compounds.
