Common use of Retirement in Lieu of Layoff Clause in Contracts

Retirement in Lieu of Layoff. Notwithstanding any provision of law, any permanent classified employee who was subject to being laid off or was in fact laid off for lack of work or lack of funds and who elected service retirement from the Public Employees’ Retirement System shall be placed on an appropriate reemployment list.
