Retroactivity Prohibited Sample Clauses

The "Retroactivity Prohibited" clause establishes that the terms of an agreement or any amendments to it will not apply to actions, events, or obligations that occurred before the effective date of the agreement or amendment. In practice, this means that any new rules, requirements, or changes introduced by the contract cannot be enforced on past conduct or transactions; for example, if a new compliance standard is added, it only governs future activities. This clause ensures fairness and legal certainty by protecting parties from being held accountable under standards or obligations that did not exist at the time their actions took place.
