Common use of Reward Element Clause in Contracts

Reward Element. Target RE04/EE14 The percentage of businesses that start-up in Calderdale that are active after three years 65% (2005/06) April 2007 – March 2010 – 69% of new businesses surviving up to 3 years in the district. Only 65% of new businesses surviving up to 3 years in the district without reward. An additional 4% of new businesses surviving up to 3 years in the district with reward figure. An additional 4% of new businesses surviving up to 3 years. A sum of £25,000 is needed to update the information base for this initiative. The West Yorkshire Strategic Economic Assessment indicates that whilst business start-up rates in Calderdale are in line with the England average and are higher than the rest of the sub-region, 3 year business survival rates throughout the sub-region, including Calderdale, have been consistently below the regional and the national average and are 3% below the national average. The target will increase the survival to 3 years minimum of new businesses starting in Calderdale. Delivery will be achieved by better co-ordination of the business support partnership in Calderdale ensuring more early stage businesses are directly and promptly referred to the West Yorkshire Enterprise Partnership for support and guidance. Value will be added by achievement of the stretch target that will improve business survival rates over and above current performance in Calderdale. The major business support partners operating in Calderdale, including the West Yorkshire Enterprise Partnership, Calderdale Council, Calderdale College, Jobcentre Plus, Action Halifax, local regeneration partnerships and including Calderdale Forward will all be involved. The above partnership arrangements will ensure the measure is owned by the right people. Co-ordination by the partners will enable an appropriate level of control to assist and add value to achievement of this measure.
