Common use of Right of Response Clause in Contracts

Right of Response. An employee shall be provided with copies of any adverse written material before it is placed in the official personnel file. The employee shall have ten (10) days to respond and be given a reasonable amount of time, during normal working hours and without loss of pay, to prepare a written response to such material. The written response shall be forwarded to the Office of Human Resources within ten (10) days after the receipt of the material by the employee, where it will become a permanent part of the file.
