Common use of Right to Copy Clause in Contracts

Right to Copy. The employee must receive a copy of disciplinary material in a timely fashion and notification (c: Personnel File) prior to that material being placed in the file. The employee shall acknowledge that he/she has read the material by affixing his/her signature on the actual copy to be filed, with the understanding that such a signature merely signifies that he/she read the material to be filed but does not indicate agreement with its content. Every employee shall have the right to be furnished with a copy of any of his/her file materials, with the exception of pre-employment confidential materials, at his/her expense, if requested; however, the employee may not remove any materials.
