Common use of Right to Refuse Unsafe Work Clause in Contracts

Right to Refuse Unsafe Work. (a) No employee shall be directed to work in an area or under conditions which may jeopardize his/her health or safety or the health or safety of others. Where in the employee's opinion such circumstances exist, the employee shall have the right to refuse such assignments. (b) The right to refuse unsafe work shall include the right to refuse to perform heavy lifting duties unassisted.
