Rights of Employees upon Return from Leave. 10.20.1 An employee returning to duty following an approved leave of absence, paid or unpaid, shall be returned to the same position held prior to the leave, providing he/she has met the conditions under which the leave was granted and providing that position exists. 10.20.2 If upon return from a paid or unpaid leave the returning employee's position has been abolished, the employee will be placed in another position at the same salary service category within his/her class of positions according to seniority within the class of positions or the employee shall be allowed to apply for any vacant position as an internal applicant.
