ROLE STATEMENT. The Grade 1 or 2 Dietitian Clinical Skills • Demonstrate a client focus in the provision of care. • Assess client, plan and implement appropriate intervention at Grade one or two level with limited support, in the area of adult nutrition • Involve clients and carers’ in decision making regarding their care and negotiate agreed plans of action. • Provide specialist dietetics services and facilitates discharge planning for in- and out-patients • Integrates evidence based practice into clinical work • Provide a patient focus in the provision of services and care. • Utilize negotiation and conflict resolution skills. • Maintain knowledge of relevant community resources, information and referral processes, and utilise this knowledge in clinical practice. • Record appropriate information and outcomes (e.g. in medical histories) in an accurate and timely manner. • Provide written reports to relevant outside organisations as required. • Practice within relevant professional and ethical standards. • Possess an understanding of culturally and linguistically diverse communities (CALD) • Maintain in the client’s histories, a written record of progress as required as set out in “Northern Health Allied Health Documentation Standards Policy”. Supervision/Professional Leadership • Represent discipline/allied health on working parties, committees and meetings as required • Act as a role model/mentor for others in the department • Participate in supervision in accordance with the Northern Health Allied Health supervision framework • Willing to participate in research projects • Actively participate in in-service training • To be responsible for education of undergraduate students, other undergraduate and hospital staff, and work experience students under the supervision and direction of the senior team members Maintenance of Equipment and Resources • Ensure equipment and resources are utilised and maintained according to departmental protocols • Be responsible for the prudent use of nutrition support products including oral nutrition supplements, enteral feeds and related products • Ensure resources including dietetics patient information sheets are developed, utlised and maintained according to departmental protocols • Compliance with mandatory training as per NH Policy is a requirement of this role. Failure to complete this training within required timeframes may result in a suspension of duties until training is completed. ROLE STATEMENT. As a member of the Northern Health Nursing/Midwifery Education team, this important role will primarily assist in anticipating and responding to the clinical developmental needs of NH student and novice junior workforce nurses based in a new area of practice, working primarily for the COVID Workforce Initiative at all NH campuses. Clinically based, the position will liaise closely with the Nurse Unit Managers and other clinical educators to assist students and novice nurses to successfully provide safe and effective patient care across NH. This role involves aspects of performance review through formative and summative feedback and completion of appropriate appraisal processes as deemed by NH including performing assessments for mandatory and clinical skill development as required. This position is responsible for: The Grade 1 or 2 Dietitian key focus of this role is providing “at the bedside” support.
