Common use of SALARIES AND CLASSIFICATIONS Clause in Contracts

SALARIES AND CLASSIFICATIONS. 12.1 Schedule 2 of the Agreement sets out the salary rates for each of the academic levels from C to E. 12.2 Employees will be classified consistently with the MSAL's as set out in 12.3 The minimum standards for academic staff are differentiated by the level of complexity, degree of autonomy, leadership requirements of the position and level of achievements of the Employee. The responsibilities of Employees may vary according to the specific requirements of the University to meet its objectives, to different discipline requirements and/or to individual staff development. 12.4 An Employee appointed to a particular level may be assigned, and may be expected to undertake, responsibilities and functions of any level up to and including the level to which the Employee is appointed or promoted. In addition, employees may undertake elements of the work of a higher level in order to gain experience and expertise consistent with the requirements of the University's promotion processes.
