Common use of SCHOOL BUS AIDE Clause in Contracts

SCHOOL BUS AIDE. 1. The Board may provide a School Bus Aide when, in the opinion of the Supervisor of Transportation, conditions on that particular route warrant an assignment of an Aide. 2. Drivers assigned by the Supervisor of Transportation to be an assistant will receive their current rate of pay. 3. School Bus Aides will be guaranteed a minimum of 25 hours per week, with such hours inclusive of an average of five hours per day of scheduled time. (If a school bus aide is absent for such hours, then he/she shall be paid only to the extent he or she is absent with approved paid leave.) 4. After the school bus aide daily assignment process has been completed, the Supervisor of Transportation will assign the additional duties as needed (i.e., bus cleaning, depot duty, etc.) for any daily assignments that fall below the 25 hours per week (5 hours/day average) guarantee. 5. Every effort will be made to keep extra duty assignments on a consistent regular schedule. 6. School Bus aides may opt out of this 25 hours/week (5 hour/day average) guarantee.
