Section 1. Definition. For the purposes of this Agreement, a grievance shall be defined as a 4 dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation or application of any term or terms of the 5 Agreement. A grievance shall contain a clear and concise statement of the grievance by indicating 6 the issue involved, the relief sought, the date the incident or violation took place, and the specific 7 article(s) and section(s) of the Agreement involved. It shall be signed and dated by the 8 employee(s) and/or Association Representative. Employees are encouraged to first attempt to 9 resolve the matter on an informal basis with their immediate supervisor at the earliest opportunity.
