Section 10.9. Layoff. 30 In the event of layoff, an employee may return to their previous job classification at the retained 31 seniority level in that classification. They may only bump an individual with less seniority in the 32 previous classification. Employees affected by a layoff shall be placed on an employment list 33 maintained by the District. Such employees will be recalled according to seniority rank, for openings 34 in the classification held immediately prior to layoff. Names shall remain on the layoff list for one (1) 35 year. Open positions will be posted for the consideration of current employees within the classification 36 before those openings are offered to employees on lay off. 37
