Separation of Duties Clause Samples

The Separation of Duties clause establishes that specific responsibilities or tasks within an organization or process must be divided among different individuals or departments. In practice, this means that no single person has control over all aspects of a critical function, such as authorizing transactions, processing payments, and reconciling accounts. By distributing these duties, the clause helps prevent fraud, errors, and conflicts of interest, thereby enhancing internal controls and organizational integrity.
