Service Outages Due to Power Failure or Disruption. In the event of a power failure, network backup power systems are in place. The MTA providing service at your home also contains limited battery backup up to 10 hours. The MTA will provide indication of a low battery. You are responsible for keeping the battery charged. Excessive use during a power outage will result in shortened life of the internal battery. Failure of network power backup systems or the MTA internal backup system during a power failure or disruption will prevent all service, including 911 dialing from functioning.
