Common use of Service Weapon Clause in Contracts

Service Weapon. 41.01. Upon retirement, each member of the Police Department who has carried a service weapon for over a twenty (20) year period may keep the weapon upon retirement as long as all applicable state and federal laws are complied with. In lieu of receiving the service weapon, the employee may elect to receive monetary payment for the replacement value of the service weapon and the City will then retain the weapon.
