Common use of Severance Date Clause in Contracts

Severance Date. Subject to Section 1.1(23)(d), the earliest of (i) the date on which an Employee retires, dies, quits, or is discharged, or (ii) the date on which he ceased to accrue Continuous Service credit as specified under the terms of the contract between his collective bargaining representative and his Employer with respect to leaves of absence or layoffs, but in no event earlier than the first anniversary of the first day of a period in which he remains absent (with or without pay) from the service of the Employer.
