Severance Payments and Other Benefits Following Termination of Employment Clause Samples

This clause defines the employer's obligations to provide severance payments and additional benefits to an employee whose employment has been terminated. It typically outlines the conditions under which severance is paid, such as involuntary termination without cause, and may specify the amount, timing, and form of payment, as well as any continued benefits like health insurance or outplacement services. The core function of this clause is to ensure financial support and transitional assistance for employees after their employment ends, while also clarifying the employer's responsibilities and reducing potential disputes.
