Shift Defined. 1. An evening shift is defined as hours worked between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. 2. A night shift is defined as hours worked between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.
Shift Defined. A normal shift shall be defined as seven and one-half (7-1/2) hours. “Tour(s)” and “shift(s)” shall be deemed to have the same meaning. CUPE and the Hospital recognize the existence of a number of positions that are less than seven and one-half (7-1/2) hours per day. Identified positions are Orderly, RPN positions on North, Housekeeping Aides, Dietetics Aides and week- end Porters. These positions have been determined to be variable hour shifts. For (4) hour shifts may also be implemented when extra staffing is required for positions other than those listed above.
