Common use of Shift Loading Clause in Contracts

Shift Loading. shift loading is paid to shift workers in addition to the ordinary rates of pay: • for an afternoon shift, which is a shift commencing at or after midday and finishing outside the normal span of hours and at or before midnight, where the majority of the shift is worked between 2.00pm and 11.00pm; or • for a night shift, which is a shift extending beyond midnight, where the majority of the shift is worked between 8.00pm and 8.00am.
