Shifts Defined. Each department has established regular weekly schedules of days and hours of work. Except in cases of emergency, the Company will make no change in a regular schedule. The Company will base such change upon need for revision to address the emergency. Employees in Operations will work on shifts as scheduled, eat their meals in the job area and relieve each other on the job, ready for work. Employees not regularly working shift work will normally work eight (8) consecutive hours exclusive of a non-paid 30 minute lunch period, five consecutive days per week. Nothing contained in this agreement shall preclude non-shift employees from working a shift other than day shift, as needed.
