Common use of Short Notice Call Clause in Contracts

Short Notice Call. Any nurse who agrees to work on a scheduled day off with less than twenty-four (24) hours’ notice shall be paid at one and one-half (1½) times the nurse’s regular rate of pay, on the same basis that overtime is computed. A nurse who calls in sick during the same week they agreed to work an extra shift under this provision shall be paid at the regular rate of pay (not at time and one-half). Low census in the work week does not cancel premium pay for short call shifts.
