Short Trips Clause Samples

The "Short Trips" clause defines the terms and conditions that apply to brief or limited-duration journeys covered under an agreement. Typically, this clause outlines what constitutes a short trip, such as travel not exceeding a certain number of days or miles, and may specify any special rates, restrictions, or documentation required for such trips. Its core practical function is to clearly distinguish short trips from longer or more complex travel arrangements, ensuring that both parties understand the specific rules and obligations that apply to these brief journeys and preventing misunderstandings regarding coverage or costs.
Short Trips. An employee who has been authorized to use a private motor vehicle for short trips of less than 20 km per day is eligible to claim reimbursement: (i) at the short trip travel rate of $0.50/km or the rate identified in 34.01 (a), whichever is greater; or (ii) at the minimum daily allowance of $6.00 (flat payment is taxable). Each calendar year employees may elect to claim under (i) or (ii).
Short Trips. Short trips shall be paid at the driver’s regular rate of pay during the regular workweek and a minimum of $25.00 for weekends or holidays, whichever is greater. The bus and/or driver is needed by the Transportation Department between the starting and ending of the trip. b. When with prior approval by the District, the driver returns to the base station and then returns to complete the trip. However, for such a period of time the driver is required to remain at the bus shop or at such other place as the transportation supervisor or his/her designee specifies, the driver will be compensated.
Short Trips. 1. Short trips will be assigned to five (5) regular route drivers on a six (6) position short trip board on a rotation. Any driver who is unable to take an assigned trip may trade with the approval of the transportation supervisor, providing it is within the same week. If a driver cannot take a trip and is unable to trade, that driver will forfeit his/her tum and go to the bottom of the rotation. Drivers are placed on the short trip assignment board by the transportation supervisor.

Short Trips. Short trips are defined as a trip that pays the driver less than the Location Rotation Amount. A driver performing a short trip will retain their position on the board and may be required to perform multiple shorts or any combination of trips until the drivers exceeds the Location Rotation Amount. In the event that a driver is under the Location Rotation Amount and remains first out, he may be allowed to take the van home until called. If a short trip develops into a long trip, it is incumbent on the driver to notify the Dispatch Centre immediately so that the board can be rotated correctly. Likewise, drivers are responsible to notify dispatch if a long trip is changed to a short trip, in order to hold their position as first out following the completion of that short trip. When out on a trip, drivers that have not reached the Location Rotation Amount will be called to see if they can accept a trip prior to the next up driver being called as long as the driver can be at the pick-up location at the pick-up time.
